Comic Journey

In case you wanted to see a brief gallery.

Software

Here's a brief list of the software I'm using.

Blender 3D

I am using Blender 3D with many add-ons, thank you Humble Bundle. The one I am using the most is HumGen to create characters.

Photoshop

Can't get the 2D look well enough with color ramps? Fake it til you make it!

Clip Studio Paint

I am using Clip Studio Paint v2 to paint and draw. I got pissed they made you connect to this version to the internet pretty much every day -- so I think I am going to refuse to upgrade past v2.

That being said, I like the page layout and ease of word balloons, plus it plays well with my Dell Pen.

Hardware

List of computers and the pros and cons:

Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 with a Dell pen

Pros:

  • Long battery life.

  • Pairs well with Clip Studio for drawing.

  • Great value for the power it offers (especially since I bought it used.

  • Allows me to work outside of the house.

Cons:

  • The Dell pen can disconnect randomly, especially when the computer forces a Windows update.

Macbook with 32 gigs of RAM

Pros:

  • This laptop performs surprisingly well with Blender. I’m shocked at how well it handles 3D for a laptop.

Cons:

  • Most people won't likely end up with a second-hand one at a bargain price -- like I did.

  • Battery life drains quickly when doing 3D work.
